Call for Scholarship Application: DAAD University Summer Course 2025

DAAD are delighted to inform you that the scholarship program of the DAAD University Summer Courses 2025 is now offered!

Please find attached the call for application and programme brochure about the University Summer Course programme, which you are kindly encouraged to circulate to your prospective students.

This program aims to deepen the knowledge of the German language and cultural studies. Course offers can be found here: www.daad.de/hsk-kursliste.

Applications are mainly open to enrolled bachelor and master students of all disciplines who are at least 18 years old. In general, they must prove that they have a minimum German language level of B1. Furthermore, detailed information is available at the following link: https://www.daad.id/HSK

  1. One-time scholarship payment for course fees, accommodation and meals in the amount of 1,192 EUR.
  2. Country-specific travel allowance for arrival and departure, ⁠see overview of travel allowances
  3. Health, accident and personal liability insurance

The scholarship is paid directly by the DAAD to the course provider. The course provider deducts the course fees and, if applicable, the costs for accommodation. If there is anything left over from the scholarship, the difference will be paid to the participant.

  1. The minimum age at the beginning of the scholarship is 18 years.
  2. Applicants must be enrolled at a university (outside Germany) both at the time of application and during the entire scholarship period.
  3. There must be two full years between two funding periods for a university winter or university summer course. An application is possible at the earliest if the last funding took place in 2022.

  3. Letter of motivation (in German)
  4. For students: Copy of school-leaving certificate with grades (with German or English translation)
  5. For graduates in postgraduate studies: copy of the last university degree certificate with final grade(s), if available (with German or English translation)
  6. Academic transcript/achievement for the last two years in German or English Language certificates (with German or English translation, if available)
  7. Other documents that you consider important for your application, if applicable with German or English translation (e.g. proof of internships, certificates of employment).
